Our Mission and our Vision—A message from Karl Wirth

When you have your health, you have the greatest treasure on earth.

Karl Wirth in wheat fieldPersonal Wellness is a Responsibility

Almost thirty five years ago I came to the realization that good health was not a right or a privilege—it is our personal responsibility. Unlike the experience of many, my personal wellness journey was not the result of a personal health disaster, or that of a loved one. I was taught about healthy lifestyle choices while quite young, and eventually adopted a commitment to always do what I could to be healthy. For all of us, however, committing to follow a healthy lifestyle and consistently choosing to walk that path can be two separate and opposing matters. Knowing this, one of my lifelong dreams has been to be in the business of helping people find ways to reach their personal wellness objectives. Cove Mountain Health is, in part, a fulfillment of that dream.

Many times during the years prior to starting Cove Mountain Health, I would visit health food stores and just stand in awe at the variety of products, books, fresh whole foods, bins full of fresh, raw grains and nuts, and the shelves lined with herbs and supplements. The atmosphere, attitudes, and conversation of both the patrons and the proprietors—people who felt, believed, and understood the importance of why they were eating and supplementing—all impressed me. These were people who were aware of themselves and the natural world in which they live, and who understood the benefits of getting their nutrition from natural sources. And my own personal experience in life led me to agree that they were on to something.

My Experience in Commerical Agriculture

I spent many years heavily involved in modern commercial agriculture. I traveled extensively and did business with a variety of agricultural entrepreneurs who were sincerely trying to do the right thing by being the best growers they could be. The more embedded I became in the agricultural industry, the more I came to realize how desperate our situation Karl Wirth inspecting wheatis regarding wellness. As a grower myself I implemented many ideas into our family farming operation to try to improve our returns and make the farm financially viable. I became involved in research work for forage crops and cattle feed. I worked to provide the best crop possible with the highest value for the dairy and beef producers who bought my product. It was a labor of love that ultimately became terribly frustrating.

Eventually, by divine intervention (that is the most accurate way for me to describe it), I began rapidly moving away from what I had for years believed would be my life’s work, instead moving toward a new mission. I found myself transitioning away from the ideologies and methodologies which I had for so many years been selling and implementing, now desiring more and more to focus upon helping others identify in their own lives the causes of their poor health, and to help them find wellness again.

What Are You? What you Eat!

We really are what we eat, and a great many of us are eating food that is not as God—whoever or whatever that is for you—designed it to be. The results can be seen all around us—diet-induced maladies, such as diabetes and heart disease, continue to afflict more and more of us. From the ground to the crop… to the processing plant… to the store shelf… to the table… to the body… that is the path of the majority of our foods today. As detailed in a recent interview with a corporate chef, we seem to be more concerned about how food tastes than we are about whether or not it is wholesome, nutritious food (or whether or not it can even be classified as food). This is a disastrous course to maintain! It cannot be sustained with corporeal impunity! We need food growers, not food inventors!

We must not allow the glamour of sweet-tasting, fat-injected, salt-laden flavor to determine the content and quality of our foods. Wellness is not governed by flavor—wellness is the result of nutrition! We should seek out natural, wholesome foods, and supplement our diets where needed, so that our bodies get the nutrients they truly need for optimum wellness. We should move about every day to circulate throughout the good from the foods we ingest. We should reestablish water as the default beverage in our diets.

Our Customers, Our Friends

As CEO of Cove Mountain Health, I want our customers to be our friends. I want our customers to be well. I want our customers to know they have choices where their wellness is concerned. I want our customers to be informed. I want them to feel confident that we are not offering our products exclusively for profit—an all-consuming motivation of so many who have become involved in the health industry. We do want to make a living, but we have no interest in making a killing, pun very much intended!

A Look at MLM

In my career I have had association with potion- and pill-marketing organizations (multi-level marketing plans). I, like many, was initially wooed by fair promises of product and profit. Because of this experience, I have had an opportunity to look objectively at a variety of products and sales approaches. In great measure I know why these companies say what they say, and I know that they price their product in a manner that is designed to create multiple income streams for a few aggressive marketers at the top. It is true that some of their products are great, but we can achieve wellness without the hype, and without the added cost. Yes, Cove Mountain Health must be profitable to stay in business, but our mission lies in restoring and maintaining health, not amassing and reveling in wealth.

Cove Mountain Health's Commitment

Karl Wirth, Cove Mountain Health CEOWe are an honest and reliable source for information, products, ideas, and alternative thinking regarding wellness. Invite your friends to seek out and listen to medical professionals who sincerely want them to be well naturally. If you are looking for a product that we don’t currently carry, we will help you find a source for it. We work at all times to be in compliance with the laws and regulations of our industry, so that our customers can be confident that our products are safe. At first glance our store does not appear to be as substantial as many who have been around for many years, but those of us who began this enterprise have many years of commitment and experience in alternate health fields. We now want to share what we both believe and know, and we have chosen Cove Mountain Health as the medium through which to do so.
